I just got a new min pin (she is 8 weeks old) and refuses to go potty on
the grass outside. She won't use the wee wee pads, and hates the litter
box. I have been reading a lot about the breed, and I see that positive
reinforcement is the best. I have plenty of treats and I am home with
her most of the day but I am seeing no improvement. Isn't now the best
time to get her litter box trained? Does anyone have any suggestions? I
am using the purina dog box and doggy litter, and I just read on a
previous post that "yesterdays news" cat litter is better since it is
smaller, so I am going to get some of that tomorrow. I am just not sure
what to do with her. Please let me know of anything you may know that
works.

So... where _does_ she go potty? And when? (How often, after
meals, after waking up,...?) You may need to base your training
on what she is currently doing, so that you learn to recognize
"the signs" and rush her outside at the right moments.
I've had Chihuahuas who initially rebel at the thought of going
on the grass - they were so low to the ground, and with so little
hair on their undersides, I guess they got tickled when they
squatted.
Have you tried trimming the grass very short in the area that you
want her to use?
Do you have pictures of her?
