I have a Goldipoo who is amost 4 years old. She is scared of anybody
(unless she knows you) and everything, including noise from a hammer,
sail boat clanging, trucks, etc. She is very gentle and would never
bite but she is very skittish. Most people I talk to, who have this
breed have the same problem.

That's not a good thing. The dogs who produce skittish dogs should
not be bred together. Some people think that crossing Goldens and
Poodles will give them the best of both dogs, but you are just as
likely to get the worst of both dogs. Either way, you can only get
what temperament you select for and it appears the Goldipoos of the
people you have talked to are not being responsible in how they are
selecting for temperament. Neither Goldens nor Poodles are supposed
to be skittish or fearful in any way. There is no excuse for breeding
a bunch of skittish dogs of either breed or a cross of the breeds.
Have you spoken to the breeder about this? I assume the breeder won't
care or they wouldn't have bred a dog like this to begin with, but
it's worth a try. Talk to a trainer in your area as well. This is
something that is going to take time to work on and it will help to
have in person help from someone who understands fearful dogs and
their body language and can teach it to you.

She is very well behaved and well trained, until something scares her.
Can anybody help us with this problem?
