YELLOW BILE IN MORNING

Dogs will throw up in the mornings, and it is usually a clear yellowy
liquid. It is bile. Bile will be released into the intestines at the mere
thought of eating food, if the stomach is empty, this can cause a reaction
and your dog will throw up.

Always have clean fresh TEPID water, not cold, available, 27/7/52.

Janet B...
I want to know where there are 27 hour days - I could use 3 extra
hours on some!

Papa Dog...
Why tepid? Just curious?

Foogle Business...
Hi, if a dog is hot, or not sometimes, drinking cold water straight from a
faucet, does on occasions make it bring it back up. It is just when

Papa Dog...
Could be, I never noticed thats why I asked. My little pup is funny.

Kathleen...
It's an old wive's tale. They used to insist that human athletes only
drink tepid water, too, on the grounds that "the shock to the system
could cause cramping".

My little pup is funny.

He likes his cold right out of the fridge or if we're out he likes it
outa the cup with ice from the drive through. He'll drink it the other
way but if hes really thirsty but I go to the fridge he'll sit by his
water bowl and stare me down until I dump his and refill it with cold.

Kathleen...
I mountain bike and play flyball with my dogs and am well aware of the
importance of hydration. My dogs strongly prefer ice-cold water.
During cycling I fill my camelbak and water bottles with ice and water
to share with the dogs, and when we play flyball I bring along gallon
jugs that I've filled halfway with water and frozen in the deep freeze.
I top them up with more water and keep them in a cooler so that my
dogs can have fresh ice water from home after every race all weekend long.

Both activities are extremely strenuous for dog and human and I have
never seen or felt any evidence of stomach upset, cramping or vomitting
caused by drinking icewater during or after exertion. I *have* seen and
experienced nausea and cramping due to dehydration.

If your dog prefers ice water there's no reason you shouldn't let him
have it.

I give my dogs ice cubes in the summer. Come to think of
it, I give them icicles from around the yard in the winter.
But anyway, although it's seen as a bad habit (it creates
jerkiness in the gangline) it's common for sleddogs to "dip"
snow as they run, both for hydration and to keep cool.

However, I'm all about having plenty of water available
27/7, and the water in the bowls naturally warms up to room
temperature. I'm unconvinced it really makes a difference,
though.

something derogatory happens you tend to try and find out what happened, and
stop it. Thanx for the question; why is everyone in these dog NGs, so

Papa Dog...
Very true.

Usenet can be a rough place in lots of groups. You gotta be a little
thick skinned. Don't take anything personal and weed through some stuff
and you can get a lot of good info.

The cat newsgroups contain the biggest bunch of e-huggers on
Usenet. A bunch of dainty flowers, to be sure, that are
going to find any other newsgroup to be excessively rough.
The cat newsgroups were the birthplace of trolling because
those people are so easily offended. Seriously.

down a bit more gently.

Papa Dog...
Shhhhh, don't tell anyone you're a cat-lover. Someone might accues you
of beastiality.

It's very common for people here to have cats.

Also, very first thing feed your dog a few biscuit treats to line his
stomach, and the vomiting will stop. If it does not, see a vet.
