For your information: I just finished sending a nasty email to
Petsmart regarding a recent price increase. I had complained to Hill's
Pet Nutrition about a recent 29% price increase on their Adult Original
Dog Food (40lb bag) as I thought it was an unbelievably high increase.
Hill's responded with the following email:

So apparently it was an increase by Petsmart only. I won't be shopping
there again. Please be careful if you continue to shop at Petsmart and
keep a sharp eye on the price you pay for items. Also it may help to
shore...

Well, I wouldn't feed my dogs Science Diet and I wouldn't
shop at Petsmart, for starters, but I expect that like
everybody else, Petsmart is having to pay more for shipping,
pay more for heating and air conditioning, and basically
having to deal with the same sorts of price inflation as the
rest of us. For them, jacking up prices on "premium"
products is probably a better business decision than jacking
up prices on core products.
If your first concern is price, shopping online and having
the food shipped can be a lot cheaper than buying locally.

Eukanauba/Iams has raised their pricing due to shipping costs, general
production costs and materials costs. so apparently Petsmart felt
justified in raising across the board?
