Kungo Bungo Ay...
My dog got its vaccination shot 6 days ago, now my question is and the
reaosn i ask is b/c i've heard mixed answers on the same topic:
i have a fenced in yard, the only poeple who go in my yard are my
family members and the only dogs are our dogs, who are healthy and up
to date with all shots and vaccines. Is it safe to bring my puppy in my
backyard or should she be kept inside untill she has had her next shots?

Rocky...
IMO, yes. But ask your vet - my opinion is based upon local
conditions and personal precautions. YMMV.

Rocky...
Whoops, I missed your final clause.

I would have no problem with giving a puppy of mine access to my
yard under the conditions you cite.

Kungo Bungo Ay...
my vet said it was fine as long as my other two dogs were the only dogs
in the area, but this other person i know freaked out when i told them
i took the dog outside. i guess i should learn to trust my vet and not

You may have neglected to mention that "ouside" was your safe back yard.

Parvo is a terrible thing and because of that, any place that you can't
guarantee is Parvo free could kill your puppy.

diddy...
Well, Tuck's breeder just lost two puppies to parvo last week. They had
never left the yard. She had not left without sterilize bleaching on
return. She had allowed no one in. The house 3 doors down had a dog with
parvo. The breeder has 8 foot high solid board fences. The only thing they
could figure, is that parvo is airborne. it is.

So although puppies MUST go out.. and there is always a risk, even a yard
is not necessarily "safe"

We knew our back yard was safe, so it was ok to take the puppy out
there, but I couldn't verify the front yard is ok.

Trust your vet, but also ask more questions. Sometimes it's difficult
to know all the questions to ask.

Vets and vet techs answer all kinds of questions from new pet owners
and they understand that it comes with the territory.
