Natalie Drest...
Good Evening All,
What Information might I find on a registration of a Victorian marriage in
1841?

MargM...
Very little

I'm wondering whether it is worth purchasing the cert.

Ken Gibb...
AS the date is b4 VICTORIA"S beginning ( being thr Port Phillip
district of New South Wales) it is ONLY Church Records.

Very BASIC.
Saveyour money.
More chance of obtaining info from shipping records,

OR,

if he died in Victoria (particuarly in a country town) look for an
obituary in the local paper.

Ken

MargM...
Hard to say

I already know Samuel Pullen WELLS married Mary Ann CROCKER. Reg 559
year1841

I'm after his place of birth or his mother's maiden name ( I suspect it's
PULLEN) or how long he had been in Victoria (he had come across from Tassie)
or anything extra that might throw light on their parents' whereabouts when
they married in England.
I know his parents are Thomas and Charlotte WELLS and that Samuel was born
somewhere in England 1810-ish

MargM...
This is a church record and will not give any of that info
. Its also listed in the NSW Pioneers indexes Pres.
Geelong V1841 1019 75
So this gives you a choice of downloading a copy for
$17.50

Looking it up for free if you have access to the NSW pre
1856 Church records films

Getting a transcription at abt $9 , (I think it is)
