Jay...
It turns out that my Great Great Grandfather was a "Train Driver"
I have found the information below, what does it mean and what can i learn
from it about Maurice O'connell???

Appointed: 15/10/1881
Ceased : 27/10/1885
Actg Porter / Lampman
Comments: Married dispensed with
Source: R84
Dept. 5445

Barry Graham...
A porter may have done several tasks - sell tickets on suburban lines,
flag platform clear to the guard, move goods to the baggage car or
assist passengers.
A lampman was usually a signaller in goods yards.

Are you sure this is the same man?
In an earlier post you stated that he was born in 1814.
It places some question about his age - it's unlikely he would have
worked past the age of 65.
According to the record above he started his railway employment at age
67 years!!!

Any help would be great,
