Janette McLennan...
I am looking for some advice. I have temporarily misplaced my g g
grandfather James Hall (why are ancestors not named Jebadiah or something!)
He was born c.1836 in Manchester (taken from his children's birth
certificates) and married Cornelia Victoria Horsington (god bless someone
with an unusual name - her i know lots about!) in 1862 in Maryborough
Victoria. He died in Victoria in 1895. His father's name was also James,

Ken Gibb...
1. Do you have D.C. ??
2. if so WHO was the informant ??
3. How many years in Colony ??
4. Birthplace ??

Ken

His father's name was also James,

and his mother's name was Sarah Bryant. Apparently he swam to Australia
sometime before 1862. I do not know if he came alone, or if his parents
came too! I want to track down his birth and research down this family
line. i have tried to look for him and his family in the 1851 lancashire
census but no luck so far. I would love to hear any suggestions - there may
be something i have forgotten. Thanks Janette
