Robinson - 6yr Old Stowaway, Newfoundland

I was told an very interesting story today about a 6 yr old Stowaway.
Franics Robinson was the little boy born in Newfoundland (which I gather is
now Canada) Francis and his parents plus silbings board a ship (ship
unknown) to USA i am very sure. But he didn't want to go with his parents as
his parents where joining a group, I think the Hamish people. That what they

.There is a small community in NSW at Nabiac , abit south
from Taree

are called? So when the ship went back home, they found the little boy and
the captain kept him as a cabin boy! So of course 'back home' there is no
one so the captain (unknown) kept him and brought him up. (if he had family,
unknown)

Can't find his birth (IGI) as well he NEVER knew his birthday and really the
right age.
I think Francis became like a nearly sea captain. A disput happen and even
though Franicis was right, he got deported and it was AUSTRALIA.

He joined the Army as have viewed his WW1 records. Know he married in 1920
in Australia.

But its the past im interested in.

Maybe the captain gave him his surname (Robinson)

Im interested in this story .. is there anything information on USA Hamish
people? I dont think its their names, as in web-search Hamish brings up the
man's name Hamish!!! They are the people who get around on horse and buggy
and dont have electicity. I think there was even a movie made about them.
