Lina...
I have a Dick Murphy in a military uniform (looks like Navy) with white cap
(with brim) and blazer. He fits into our family somewhere but difficult to
find.

Lina.

Do you think he was in the Royal Australian Navy? The NAA has scanned
RAN service records 1911-1970 online for officers and ratings (series
A6769 and A6770 respectively). A search of the series for ratings (by
entering A6770 in the Reference numbers field) returns four Richard
Murphys: one from WA, two VIC and one NSW.

We had Sarah Ann (Boyle) Murphy, husband John died 1873 at Gulgong. They had
baby Charles who died no issue and Sarah was pregnant with Sarah Sophia
Murphy born 1873 when John died. Perhaps the daughter had children out of
wedlock? The Boyle's were from Fish River near Bathurst.

Looking for relatives or clues. I found a Sarah Murphy died 1905 at
Liverpool of John & Sarah so will get that certificate. The mother could
have remarried.
There is a Sarah A Murphy married James Trahey at Cassilis which is the
right area, in 1897 at which time she'd only have been in her 40s so that
wld fit. and quite a few other marriages but not from that area.
