I was looking up the on-line NSW records and found an insolvency file for my
gg grandfather, Patrick Smith.
Sequestration was on 3/6/1865 and the file number is 7152. I am interested
in finding out how I can access this file and what information might be
available on the file. Can they be ordered from NSW State Archives?

Hi Anne

Hi Anne,
I also have found an Insolvency Record for an ancestor in NSW - John
Thomas GLEESON - and have organised someone to copy the record for me.
Would you like me to let you know the scope of what is detailed in such
a record when I receive it??? I understand there is varying detail on
similiar types of records, but I may be able to give an overview.
Regards, Laura

On their web site State Records say they do not offer a
copy service for the records due to the large difference
in the size of these files
Insolvency Records, 1842-87
Name search for those unable to pay their debts or meet
their expenses. We are progressively adding entries to
this index. We do not offer a copy service from this
index.

So .................. You will either have to make a
personal visit or get someone to go there on your behalf
. Try contacting Maria on carrieskwi@ozemail.com.au .
She gets copy from Kingswood for others . And isnt
expensive
