Vic wills and probates

Hello Fellow Researchers,

Please excuse my ignorance - can someone explain if it is better to get
a will or a probate or both (if available).

I have a list of probate numbers to get from Vic.

When I do a search on the pro vic gov site several different references
show up (i.e. probates, will). Does the will have the same reference
numbers as the probates?

If you "view" a PROBATE it usually has the WILL,

IF there was a will.

Why would there be two probates listed for the same number?

If you do it on line ( order) two days would suffice.

" In House" morning orders b4 10.00.a.m. are available by about
2.00.p.m.
