Rubert G Harris, New Zealand

Hi Everyone
I haven't done any research in New Zealand, was
wondering what's
available on line, as I'm a least 2 hours from a Family history centre.
I have been told that Rubert/Rupert Gillies HARRIS went to New Zealand
I don't know when or where. He was born 1887 Tasmania, his parents
were Thomas John HARRIS and Florinda Agnes nee HOWES.
Hoping some one has some Idea's I know it's like looking for a needle
in a haystack.

Dear Lorraine

A Rubert Gilbert Tasman HARRIS married Catherine Mary (? or May)
CRAWFORD in 1916 (region unknown) according to the marriages index. You
could order an electronic printout of the marriage certificate from the
Registrar General via their web site and that should at least tell you
where they were living in 1916:

Hi Lorraine,
above named person in the search engine you will get one hit.
If this is your man then based on the hit at National Archives your man
lived in the Wellington region.
If you have access to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force lists ( these
are in Book format )you will find out where he lived and also his next
of kin at the time he joined.
I know that the Society of Genealogist New Zealand Library at Panmure,
Auckland hold a copy of these books.
These list are also available on Micro Fiche.
