Vignacourt, unfortunately we do not know Jean Luc Godart the cabinet maker.

My father in law Louis DENAES who died in 2003 aged 99 was born in Strazeele
a small village of Flanders where he lived during WW 1. The village was

right in the middle of the lines and his parents, wind mill owners also ran
a small café where the Australian troops came and spent there money before
moving to the front line. He then met and got quite well acquainted with a
young officer by the name of Reg POLLARD and he kept contact with him till
he died round about 1975/19880. He was a member of your parliament.

The story in the family says that Reg fell in love with one of my father in
law's sisters, Madeleine, but she declined his offer to marry him and live
in Australia.

Keep well, Harold
