In a letter from my father written in 1964 in Hameln (Lower Saxonary,
Germany) his unit is given as 43 FLD.PK.SQD.
Can anybody here tell me, if this is a correct statement?
btw: What does fld pk sqd mean?
Today the old Linsingen Barracks in Hameln are the Gordon Barracks and
there is the 42 Field Squadron.
Is this the same unit, was tthe satement from 1964 a mistake?
Why do I ask?
Because I am searching for my father.
His name is David Hayes.
He was born on June 06th 1928 in Belfast.
His Army ID was A 85 59 42.
His rank 1964 was Corporal.
Can anybody help?
