There was a mass issue of petrol ration books in the early 1970s, still got

myths...
My positive recollection is that one went (or sent a member of the
family) to get ration books in 1953.

I don't remember the ration books in 1953, although I do remember the street
party for the Coronation.


Petrol ration coupons in 1973 were sent to us, I believe.

Yes they were. Finally chucked mine away about a year ago.

mine somewhere. I don't know what database they used to issue them,
presumably the DVLA but it wasn't computerised then.
