I've recently downloaded the 1901 census image for my house - and am
trying to work out the occupation of the person that lived there.
Can anyone work out what this says? I'm hoping someone more familiar
with reading these documents may do better than me with the
handwriting!

It would be more useful if you posted more/all of the page - that would
help in interpretation by being able to compare the text you are
interested in with other writing on the page.

It's tricky because of the marks over it..
Looks like Pl....ncher.
I wonder if it could be Blancher.
Best wishes

I also thought Blancher but what about Plumber

Definitely looks like Blancher to me. But what's a "blancher"?

Someone who blanches things. More specifically, it's a term used for
someone who is responsible for cleaning fruit and vegetables.
Depending on where this person lived, it could be a role in a food
factory or on a produce farm.
