I am hoping someone here will be able to point me
in the right direction.
I have been searching for James Henry Schenoick
(aka Harry) born c.1870 in Manchester. I have
managed to find him on the 1901 census mis-transcribed
as Schensick....with his wife and children living in Birmingham
and I also have his marriage entry on freebmd to Emily Owen
in 1891.
Apart from that, I have been unable to find anything
else about him or his parents on previous censuses...or in fact
any other Schenoicks. So my question is.......where is he from?

web-search suggests
SHENOICK Elizabeth b cir 1877 Birmingham d?
(daughter of Henry SCHENOICK & Elizabeth SPRANG - she married Charles
WILLIAMS)
SCHENOICK Frederick b 1911 Birmingham d?
(son of Thomas SCHENOICK & Nellie Matilda SMITH)
SCHENOICK Thomas William b 1873 Birmingham d?
son of Henry SCHENOICK & Margaret SPRANG - he married Nellie Matilda SMITH)

That's a toughy....I have here details of a William Thomas Schenoick
born c.1873 in Manchester.....yet the entire family appeared to end
up in Birmingham. However, William Thomas appears in the 1901
census with wife Nellie.....so it does look as though this is the correct
family. D you think it would be rude of me to email the owner of the
Godwins website and ask a few questions?
Peter Goodey...

It would hardly be rude of you! Can't guarantee that the response, if any,
might not be rude!!!

It isn't rude to ask because you might find you're related; but if you
don't ask you'll never know.

12. Charles WILLIAMS, born cir1876, died ?, resided 1898 in 5 Back of 12
Glebe Street, occupation Brass Filer. He married Elizabeth SCHENOICK,
resided (family) at 1 Court House 5 Summer Hill Street, married 24 Mar 1898
in Birmingham.
and there appears to be a modern Schenoick with Birmingham connections...
and I'm not sure if this is relevant..
has Owen's and Shenoick's in Birminghan.
"Joseph Field, brother of George & Emily Shenoick, Mary's sister.

TIDS,
Just a suggestion.
Boer War ( South African campaign)
mid 1890 s to early 1900 s.
Great War 1914-1918.
Might have been "prudent" to Anglicise his name.
'
Also have you checked
SCHENDICK.
SCHOENECK
