Can help me with this one.
According to the 1841, 1851, 1861 Cencus John Nile was born C1804 in
Plymouth, Devon, he married Mary Ann Brooks in Maker Cornwall 1825
where her parents lived, he died in Plymouth 1867, I have even
identified his grave in Ford Park Cemetary. To date I have been unable
to identify who his parents were though much to my annoynce.

1. Where have you researched ??
cut any doubling up.
2. If PLYMOUTH is correct have you checked Parish Records ??
3. What denomination ??
4. Did not the Headstone give any clues ??
i.e other family members.

Suggest you search 51 census for others with the same surname who might be
family members.
Also apprenticeship records, I'm not sure if these are on line yet.
Remember lots of people didn't know where they were born, I have a couple of
ancestors who consistently gave the wrong place in the censuses. Even I
didn't know where I was born until I was about 16, I just assumed I was born
where I was living so I'd never asked. Only when I needed my birth
certificate did I discover the actual place. What hope was there for those
before registration who had never asked?
