Further to my mention of posting problems in the Brother's keeper thread.
Does anyone have a quick fix for my problem. I installed a new modem/router
that BT sent, however, Agent still looks for the old one and cannot seem to
see the new one. This, I assume is because the new one is connected to my
ethernet port rather than a USB port. Can I force Agent to look elswhere?
If I can't I'll have to carry on using this peice of junk. I've spent all
weekend on-line to their support people but apparently the only software
they have any knowledge of is M$, they don't even seem to know their own..

Have you uninstalled the old modem ?
Have you removed the dial-up settings from Agent ?

Hmmm, don't think I have..but, Agent shows other modem settings for modems
I've never used, has a list of four or five, presume they were set up for
the built in modem. Agent show the broadband modem as not in use.

Hmmm. My Agent settings don't mention any modems at all (I have a home
network using a router). ITYF the first thing you need to do is delete
any entries referring to the non-existent modems to prevent Agent
trying to use them; you probably need to go into W*nd*ws Control Panel
rather than tinker with Agent. IIRC you will not always "see" a USB
modem if the software imitates a LAN but if programmes "find" a modem
for which software is installed (whether or not the modem exists) then
a connection will be often (and maybe only) attempted on whatever was
first installed.
