Martin Briscoe (2)...
Apologies if this has already been mentioned here.

The Hebridean Connections website opened last month.

To quote from the site

"We're pleased to present the new Hebridean Connections website,
launched on Friday 18 August 2006. Over 41,000 records on the people and
places of the Outer Hebrides are now online!

Begin by searching for a person or place with the search facility to the
left, or jump straight into the records by clicking on one of the
photographs below. Advanced and map-based searches can be accessed using
the tabs above. Instructions if needed are found on the support page.

Hebridean Connections is run by the voluntary Comainn Eachraidh
(Historical Societies) in the communities of Bernera, Uig, Pairc and
Kinloch on the Isle of Lewis. New information is added every day and the
project will soon expand to include other parts of the Outer Hebrides,
so check back often."

My system was unable to resolve that URL - is there a problem with the
site, or is the URL wrong?.

A. Gwilliam...
Worked fine for me. Perhaps you copied-and-pasted with that stray
question mark at the end?

S Viemeister...
I tried just clicking. I tried cutting-and-pasting, both with and
without the '?'
I still can't get to the site.

Lesley Robertson...
That's very odd - I've just got in by clicking on the URL on sgb.

S Viemeister...
Well, I've tried yet again, and NOW I can see it!

Lesley Robertson...
Clever girl!

S Viemeister...
Must have been the incantations.........

Hmm.
Then it seems that the problem may be on my side. I'll ask my resident
IT gurus what they think.
