Jenny M Benson...
1861 England Census, RG9/653/27/10. I'm trying to decipher the
occupation of John Carter. I'm fairly sure it *doesn't* say Master of
Slug Coast Tenders, although that's just what it looks like!

Astral Voyager...
Master of Stag Crest 9' (9 foot) Tender?

Anne Chambers...
Might is be S tug (i.e. steam tug?)

Astral Voyager...
Looking at the formation of the 'a' in Master I would stick with it being
Stag.

Fenny...
He's been looking at this website.

Jeff...
I suppose every bit as useful as the bucket shop coats of arms sites and
marginally more amusing.

For Roy it suggests:

"Reverend Earl Roy the Unusual of Lower Beanthrop in the Hedge"

Slarty...
But this one seems much more appropriate.

"His Eminence the Very Lord Roy the Corpulent of Pigotts Sty"

I suppose we should bear those titles in mind just in case we are missed
(again) in the New Year's Honours!

Tragedy is that I'd bet one could invent a website with a family
history of those names and very quickly find others quite seriously
claiming descent

Roy Stockdill...
Actually, it appears to suggest a different title every time you enter your
forename. They also appear to be flogging Scottish lairdships as well.

Were I to award myself a title (and, as is well known, I don't believe in
them) it would probably be something like Lord Stockdill of

Jeff...
Well, principle is one thing but think of all those "do nothing"
Directorships that tend to be available to titled people. Beats working!

Bradhuddersfax or the Earl of Mytholmroyd and the Calder Valley.

Charani...
Could go for this title:

Her Most Noble Lady Charani the Calm of Brompton Underfoot

He was actually, loosely, a "Customs Officer" and the 1871 description
of him as "Retired Commander of Revenue Cruiser" is accurate. I'd just
like to know exactly what was written in 1861.

Ben Wolf...
Looks like it might be the name of the ship.

Master of " Stag heart 9 " tender
