Jill...
I am looking at putting the BVRI discs on my birthday list but having never
seen them I don't know what sort of value they are going to be for me

Jill...
I wonder if the NBI is likely to have more of the relevant places and names
I am looking for?

Could someone with them give me a moment of your time to answer a couple of
questions which might help me judge if it is possible to do?

What percentage of the Maidstone records are on them?
How many Bowis's are there on them?
How many Crundwells are there on them?
How many entries for Ardchatten are there on them?
What percentage of the Glasgow records are on them?

If these are not easily sourced please just let me know

Jeff...
I most certainly agree with need for 2nd chamber.

The problem with it being elected is that it is then much
more likely to mirror the Commons and less likely to resists
Commons decisions.

Hugh Watkins...
I see no need for a second chamber

waste of money

abolish all titles

Geoff Pearson...
We don't have one in Scotland.

Jeff...
And, in any event, whilst I think in theory all members are
allowed to sit on an appeal, only the Law Lords do so.

As to its function as an Upper Chamber, emotionally I hate
the idea of an unelected body affecting lawmaking, but I
have to admit that as a chamber of "sober second thought" it
works well. Similarly all kinds of esoteric expertise
present in that chamber causes it do much unheralded good in
detailed revision of legislation especially at Committee
stage.

curious - that suggests lots of mistranscriptions as they are a Lincolnshire
clan with a few scattered elsewhere
