Looking for relatives of John Tempest b.1859 Coxhoe, Kelloe, Durham, England

I am retracing my family tree and have found the link from the US to
Brittain, but from there I get conflicting or missing information concerning
his ancestry. I know he married Ester Dobson b.1859 of Crooks, Durham,
England, if that helps. Any help from across the ocean would be appreciated.
