Can you please post the FULL details from the marriage certificate, since
we cannot make a proper judgement without seeing them? Particularly
important is her age and details of where she was living at the time of the
marriage, plus details she gave of her father. Also names of witnesses,
since these are often important in the overall pattern. I'd also be
interested to know how old the bridegroom William Tuffnell was, since
I've pointed out that in 1901 there were two of them at Stopsley, one
aged 36 and the other 25.
If you don't want to do this, I strongly suggest you obtain the following
birth certificate, since this is the only one I can find who seems to fit the
facts.....
ROSA STANBRUCK, reg. June quarter 1873 at Wandsworth, vol 1d
page 555. My feeling is she will turn out to have been illegitimate but I
don't want to make a pre-judgement, so I suggest you buy the certificate.
You can do it online at the GRO website.
Finally, if you are a newcomer, as I imagine you are, could you please
note for future reference that you should post ALL the facts in your very
first message, rather than us have to drag information out of you a bit at
a time? Some of us here are experts and professionals who have been at
this business a very long time, but if you want our help then we expect
you to provide us with the fullest information possible.

ok point taken about posting all the information. So here it is
married in Stopsley Bedford
march 31 1902
Name age ocupation residence
father profession
William Thomas Tuffnell 27 labour Stopsley George
Tuffnell engine driver
Rose Standbrook 28 Domestifc ser Stopsley Edmound
Standbrook Blacksmith
in presence of Able Goodship
Millir Matilda Tuffnell
(the 2 witnesses i think get married in 1909)
Saying that on the marriage cert her name isnt conclusive its Rose because
i cant make out the last letter of 1st name. I may be presuming its Rose
because i have the birth cert of there daughter which is my grand mother.
and this came from my mother.
