Mark...
Any chance that someone with a moment to spare would be kind enough to
look up the following on Ancestry's 1901 UK Census & mail me the jpegs
of the forms.

I'm looking for George Henry Clout who is married to Rose Emma Clout
nee Russell. They should be living at 16 or 18 Freeschool lane
Rochester. They will have one son by this date, William George Henry
Clout ( abt 1yo).

Mark...
Thanks Guys

The only information that I've been able to get so far, (but not
confirmed) is George Henry Clout was born in Luton, Kent date unknown,
ran a Boot repair shop in Luton and died in 1917.
Rose emma Russell was born in Rainham Kent date unknown. Marriage date
unknown and died 1924.
William George Henry Clout was their first of 3 sons was born in 1900.
The other two were Henry George Thomas Clout born 1904 in Strood Kent
and Leonard Clout born 07/07/1917 in Clapton, London. They all lived
in 16 or 18 Freeschool lane Rochester.

I've just taken up Genealogy as a hobby and its proving harder than I
thought to track down relatives. Any recomendations as to which is the
best pay site to join and search on for english ancestors?

The 20th century is the easy part ;)) There's a lot of information in
the GRO indices but be aware there are entries missing from them.

free the GRO indices.

BMDs for 1837 to about the First World War indexed. This is a
volunteer project so not yet complete but they are getting there
indices and the advantage of being indexed from 1866 to 1920, and
well as several other databases in addition to the GRO indices. These
last to are both pay to view but not expensive. I also find
*but* be very cautious of any patron submissions. Some can be spot on
but many are guesswork if not pure invention! The extractions can
usually be relied on to be accurate - but not always! Family search
is a free site.

No single site will give you all sources and there will come a time
when you'll need to either visit a record office or visit your local
Latter Day Saints (LDS) Family History Centre (FHC) where you can hire
films of the various parish registers for a small fee. You'll find
their catalogue on the familysearch site and also where your nearest
FHC is located. The opening hours may have varied, so a phone call to
confirm is advisable.

Information on the censuses is only as good as the person giving it,
the enumerator's hearing and the legibility of either his and/or the
householder's writing. So you may need to be creative with spellings
;))

useful as well.

Happy hunting and if you've any queries, just holler but give as much
information as you can so you can get the most appropriate help and
best advice :))

Malvary J Cole...
I had a look for them, but didn't find anything. Do you have a date of

Peter Goodey...
The National Archives 1901 site may have them. A George and Rose CLOUT
appear to be living together in Chatham. I haven't looked at the image
because it costs money - which I suppose is why the question was asked.

Mark...
Thanks Peter
That looks like it could be them.
George Clout age-24, born Luton Kent, Parish of Chatham
Rose Clout age 24, born Rainham Kent, Parish of Chatham

Cheers Mark

Malvary J Cole...
I have a subscription to Ancestry and can look at images, there are a few
George entries and a few Rose entries, but none of them together. No
entries for Chatham nor Maidstone.

I should add that there are no entries that are coming up when I look for
them, not that there are no entries there - obviously Peter found something
which Ancestry doesn't want me to find!!

Malvary in Ottawa

birth/place of birth for George Henry and Rose Emma. That might help in
finding them.
