My g g grandfather Richard VAUSE was baptised in Kingston on Hull in 1822.
In the baptism register his father, John VAUSE, is described as a Maltster of
Myton or Aryton -- the writing is not clear.
The family was originally from Epworth, and later lived near Thorne, and
subsequent children were baptised at Fishlake, and later lived in Crowle.
All these places are in that district that may not be named, and therefore not
far from each other near the River H-----.
Is there an Ayrton or Myton close to Hull where the parents could have been
living? Could it be a suburb of Hull?

There are a Melton and a Welton, both about 8 or 9 miles west of Hull.
Also several Weightons (Market Weighton, Little Weighton) further
north.
