The below is a transcription of a document I picked-up on ebay a few months
ago. I've been trying to discover the location the document is from - but
without any luck (the names 'appear' to be from Yorkshire). I would like to
send at least a transcription to the relevant local studies/record office,
so any help would be much appreciated.
Phil.
(please excuse if the format of the below if it displays jumbled):-

In 1841, Ryton in Yorkshire had farmers by the names of Richd Surr, Wm
Nelson, Thos Wentworth, Thos Simpson and Thos Raines (and other
farmers with surnames Foxton and Coates). Possibly they paid tithe
rents to Joseph Wardell a few years earlier?
The North Yorkshire County Record Office has a Ryton tithe map of
1842, which could be interesting.

If it was dutch or latin I would expand this name to Theodorus, like the
Richd in this list should be expanded to Rich[ar]d. Just nice to have
the proper names in such a worthwhile list.

As it's English I would expand this name to Thomas.
