mlou1173...
Speaking of old entertainment acts.....I'm off to see the Doobie Brothers
tonight in concert....anyone remember them??

Charani...
Yes :))

Fenny...
You can't possibly say that and not expect me to quote The West Wing.

********

T.V. REPORTER
With 17% of the precincts reporting, we are now ready to call the Illinois
primary for former New Hampshire Governor Jed Bartlet.

Everyone cheers, cheers, cheers all around, and hugs as "Celebration" by
Kool and the Gang plays.

JOSH
[pointing at Sam] Yes!

Leo enters and gives Josh a big hug.

LEO
Hey, hey, hey! Way to go! Now, let's get to California.

Leo runs away to party.

JOSH
Leo, we've got to replace this music, we've got to replace it with some
Doobie Brothers!

mlou1173...
I remember that episode! I'm so sad that the series is finished.

Fenny...
They are repeating it all from the beginning over here, but I have all the
DVDs to keep me happy. I'm glad they didn't go any further with it, as it
just wouldn't have been the same. I'm waiting for Mr Sorkin's new

Ye Old One...
Oh I disagree. I think there was a great deal of milage left in it. It
would have been very interesting to see how a different president
would have reacted to the same sort of events, allowing in some cases
a totally different angle to be explored.

offering to turn up here.

Ye Old One...
Commander in Chief was also good (not being shown in the UK yet but I
have my feeds) but they have cancelled that. Best Merkin made show at
the moment is, in my opinion, Grey's. Just finished watching season
two (due to start on UK TV next week I think). Also like Psych which
has Dulé Hill in it.

mlou1173...
As am I! I'm so glad that they are putting Bradley Whitfield in the new
show....he is one of my faves!

Fenny...
One of our digital channels has just started repeats of Thirtysomething,
which was one of my faves 20 years ago. I am in seventh heaven with an
hour of Timothy Busfield to watch every afternoon and both Brad and
Timothy on my WW DVDs in the evenings. Studio 60 has both of these with
added Matthew Perry :-)

mlou1173...
Terrific! I knew about Matthew Perry....but didn't realize that Timothy
Busfield is going to be in it too!

I have noticed that TB is doing a lot of directly these days on other
sitcoms.

Fenny...
He directs stuff like "Without a Trace" that is just appearing over here.
He has also been in several episodes as Jack's lawyer.

mlou1173...
Thanks....another one to watch for over there is "Cold Case"......really
good!

Ye Old One...
NCIS, only just starting in the UK but series 4 due at the end of
September in the USA. Criminal Minds. Shark (due on CBS September

Fenny...
Oh, yes. I watch this. It has the Mark Harmon factor :-)

S2 starts this week, IIRC.

Ye Old One...
Now. I'm warning you in advance. Please make a note of my email
address and keep it safe. At the end of season two you will need it to
contact me and as for the first episode of season three. You will not
be able to wait six months :)

Fenny...
:-)

I'm hoping that they may actually show S3 straight after S2, which will be
sometime after Christmas. Otherwise, I see the complete S3 is available
from certain sources.

But I shall mark this message as Protected, just in case.

21st 2006) very good. The Unit (series 2 starts CBS Sept 19).
Kidnapped (NBC, premieres September 20) from the first episode this
looks very good. Yuo have Doctor Who (Sci Fi, 2nd season premieres
September 29) which we have already seen in the UK.

As the song goes - these are a few of my favourite things :)

Was a fun concert..and for our Australian friends, the "warm up band" turned
out to be The Little River Band.....whom I actually enjoyed more. Doobie
Brothers had too many speakers and seemed too loud, but the LRB were great!

Fenny...
Glad you had fun.

We use the grassed over ski lift in the summer which at the bottom provides
a natural outside amphitheater for our summer concerts....lovely...wonder if
they are still in tune??

Charani...
Sounds great and I bet they are :))

mlou1173...
They were...if a little too loud....Little River Band were better!

Charani...
You probably wouldn't have thought so a few years ago when you were a
teenager ;))

mlou1173...
You *had* to bring that up! Not copping to the age issue!!!

Charani...
lol

You mean you're more than in your mid 20s now??

mlou1173...
Just a smidge.....
