Vital Records Index UK

I have upgraded my computer and am in the trows of installing software.
With the British Isles vital records I have the Viewer 4.0. When trying to
install I get a message stating I must upgrade the Viewer to version 4.02.
I have installed the 1881 Census successfully using Viewer 3.0!
Grateful on any information as to where I can get an upgrade.

I have the BIVR 2nd Edition and the viewer 4.0, often when I clean the
registry
it must remove a file because I have to re-install the viwer (firstly
uninstall it) then
open the viewer and 'click here to add a resource file to the list' even
though it
still shows 'vital records index' so put disk 1 into the drive and click ok,
you
will see the viewer close and then a patch runs to update, or at least that
what
it does on mine everytime I clean the registry.

I did request info from LDS and they could not help.

the updater to 4.02 was on the same cd as 4.00 when I last browsed the
1881 CDs

these days i use the freebie 1881 on line
use the drop down menu to chose 1881
Keyword(s) includes occupations and streets too
or
which hasa better layout if you want to coy paste a whole household

you really only need the Scotland 1881 CDs

unless you are madly boolean with the advanced search

The upgrade to Version 4.02 comes on "Disc 1" of the 2nd edition of
the British Vital Records Index.

When you add that resource to the list shown in the viewer the update
is installed before that resource is added to the list of installed
resources.

If you examine the files on that CD you will see an "UPDATE"
directory. You can run the "update.exe" file in that directory to
manually run the viewer update.
