Maloney Empire...
Is anyone able to tell me which street was hit by the tornado?

Don Aitken...
I saw the local TV news report, but they never give exact locations
for such things - to discourage casual gawkers, I suppose. It was
variously described as Kensal Rise and NW10, which ought to mean the
area around Chamberlayne Road. The first reports said one person was
serously injured, but later ones said none of the injuries was
serious, although there was a lot of property damage, and several
hundred people were evacuated.

It's amazing how localised these things can be - I live less than two
miles away, and noticed nothing.

Phil C....
I wonder how much news coverage it would have received if it hadn't
been London.

Thanks and regards,

Anne Chambers...
Chamberlayne Road, Kensal Rise

Mike Williams...
Chamberlayne Road, Whitmore Gardens, Leigh Gardens and Liddell Gardens

At least 20 homes on Whitmore Gardens and Chamberlayne Road were
declared a no-go zone last night, whereas about 40 to 50 properties
along Leigh Gardens and Liddell Gardens were deemed safe enough for
residents to return and collect their belongings.

John Zillwood...
Cripes! I was brought up on Clifford Gardens (a block away) and my first
school was Chamberlayne Road Primary in 1950 :-)
