Since you appear to know when they were born, why not obtain their
birth certificates, or is this too obvious? If you are uncertain as
to which may be the right candidates, then get the marriage
certificate which will give you the fathers' names. If you really
don't know how to obtain birth and marriage certificates, then ask
here again.

You should also try to find them in the 1851 census or 1861 (since
Kate Smith) may not have been alive at the time the 1851 was taken.
However, with a common name like Clayton and an extremely common name
like Smith, this may not be easy.

Presumably you are a complete newcomer to family history, so you may
find it worth your while to read my Newbies' Guide or buy a decent
book on the subject.
