How many misspellings in one transcription?

Fenny...
I know my g-g-granfather was living in Yorkshire in 1850 as his daughter
was born in Halifax. After much searching and use of wild cards, I have
finally found them in the census.

As I expected, Bensa was misspelled, however in the transcription of 3
people:-

Louis George was down as Louise George
Fanny was listed as Jeanny
Angela Maria was Augustus (daughter)
St Helier, Jersey is St Hackney, Gersey
Isle of Wight is Isle of Mann.

I know the writing is fairly hard to decipher, I think they managed to get

Roger Mills \(aka Set Square\)...
It becomes a bit of a challenge when *several* things are wrong in the same
record. I've found a number of these, but don't have the evidence
immediately to hand. Examples of single errors which I've found are:
Elizabeth Dore transcribed as Elizabeth Dew (and soundex doesn't find her!)
The Matthews family transcribed as Marthers
A birthplace of Abbeycwmhir, Radnorshire transcribed as "Aberecowiby Rhayder
Radsoe". [I'm nor surprised they got it wrong, but it would nice if they did
a sanity check against *real* place names].

the 3 ages correct.

We have found:

James L Manning - Daughter (James = Fanny)
and a place "Stalton on Sudane" which should be "Weston in Gordano"
next
