Derek Smith...
I am searching for the ancestors of William Lomas, bapt 16th June 1799, son
of William Lomas and Ann in Pentrich. I can find no recorded marriage of
William Lomas to Ann ? in Pentrich which would probably be about 1797-99.
Possibly the marriage took place in the brides parish. Does anyone have any
knowledge of a such a marriage where the groom is from Pentrich.

In the 1851 census William Lomas aged 81born Brassington, retired
butcher, is in Pentrich with daughter Elizabeth aged 32 born Pentrich.

On IGI Elizabeth daughter of William & Ann Lomas baptised Nov 1818 at
Pentrich

On IGI William Lomas marries Ann Stayley in Brassington, 30/6/1794
(member entry though). They have 2 children in Brassington which fit
neatly into the start of their "run" of children in Pentrich.

Many thanks to all who replied, im now back on the trail.

Just curious but is Pentrich the same as Penridge? The title says Penridge
but the address at the bottom says Pentrich..

Mentions a William Lomas as having a right to a pew in 1918. Might be worth
a closer look at the church records if this is the right place.
