Jones...
I hope I won't open a can of worms, but I was curious why your
newspapers don't post people's names. I always read the BBC and there
is hardly ever names. Also, no obituaries. How does anyone know what is
happening? The old telegraph, telephone, tell-a-women method? No
offense intended. My curiousity stems from the knowledge one's
genealogy search would be greatly enhanced if names accompanied the
stories.

Charani...
Our newspapers *do* carry names where they are known and when families
have allowed the names to be published. I don't know what papers
you're reading, or what news items.

The BBC is a news site but is essentially a TV broadcaster. The news
site also names names where they have them. It also does carry
obituaries but only of famous people, or those deemed famous. It
doesn't carry any for ordinary people.

If a family wants an obituary, and it's not a legal requirement, then
they'd use the personal columns of The Times, The Daily Telegraph or a
similiar broadsheet. The newspapers do have online versions.

Or a local paper - or an ex-school, ex-employer newsheet or similar.
