Markus...
Hi; as I write this im watching a programme on Channel 4; they're DNA
testing certain people and coming up with stats of what 'percentage' of
their genetic material comes from what parts of the world i.e. 20%
european, 40% middle eastern, 40% east asian etc. And going down to
even more specifics like 'East Europe 40%, 60% south eastern
european'...

I was wondering if anyone knew how accurate this testing was? And
where one might get it done in the UK?

A very poor program in my opinion. No provenance or explanation was
given by the presenter regarding the analysis of the DNA 'results' by
'experts' elsewhere.

The main purpose of the production seemed to be to embarrass folk who
thought that their lines were exclusively 'English' by revealing that
the DNA showed that they had (say) 25% Eastern Europeon DNA content -
whatever that means.

Of course this information 'may be' from 50,000 years ago when we were
all cavemen. The entire charade was a load of rubbish....

And as to the question of whether or not Ian Wright could be rightly
considered as English, I would ask if I had been born in Hong Kong
would that make me Chinese?
