I am hoping for some pointers...

My GGGrandfather (Harry Chudley - age 47) appears in the 1891 London census
as living in the "Mast House" Poplar. His occupation is listed as "Wharf
Superintendent"
For those with the S/N Census CD Set - CD24 R12-0337.pdf p.77

I am not sure which of the several possible docks this might apply to. I had
found references to the historic Mast House at the East India dock, but also
some references to it being demolished well before 1891. Does anyone have
any ideas?

Thanks in anticipation!

Looking at the enumeration description of District 37 Poplar for 1891,
it was off West Ferry Road.

Mast House Terrace exists as a modern road at about the right place

There is a clear, detailed 1885 map at

And this map shows Mast House - the square building

Thankyou John - I had not woken up to the significance of West Ferry Road
entries being next on the census page. Brilliant map URL's - they open up a
whole different train of thought!
