Kew Vet...
I am seeking information on my GGGGFather - Charles MINSTER born C1800
married to a Margaret BROWN of ENGLAND
Any assistance will be appreciated

Charani...
If you can tell us more than you have, someone might be able to point
you in the right direction. BROWN is the the 5th most common name in
England and Wales so there must have been hundreds, if not thousands,
of Margaret BROWNs in England 205 years ago. MINSTER is the =50162nd
most common name.

You'll need to be very much more precise if you want any assistance.

The 1861 census produces just 2 Charles MINSTERs, one in London and
one in Liverpool which are at the opposite ends of England.

Ancestry produces 8 Charles MINSTERs scattered across England.

Don't be absurd! Where was Charles Minster born and what on earth do
you mean by "Margaret Brown of England"? Do you have the remotest

CWatters...
I know someone who recieved a postcard from someone they had met on holiday.

CWatters...
Oops wrong key...

The important bit was that the address just said "Brown" and the name of
their town.

Geoff Pearson...
Your reply was only mildly surreal and might well have linked to the OP's
question. I was thinking about it hard when I read your second post.

idea how many Margaret Browns there must have been in England over
the last 200 years or so? Are you one of those colonials who think
England in 1800 was populated by 14 people and a cocker spaniel?

Have you done all the obvious things, like looking on the IGI in
FamilySearch, the census returns and other sources, etc.? Have you
looked for either of their births or baptisms, their marriage, or
even what part of the country they came from? When did they arrive in
Australia or didn't they? When and where were they married? Have you
even tried to find them in the census returns? Did they leave wills?
Who were their parents? Who were their children?

Try being a bit more precise if you expect any sensible replies to
such a ridiculous query.
