I always neglected history at school and now wish I hadn't!
Can SKS tell me, or show me where to find out, what the principal
industrial activity was in and around Wolverhampton - Walsall -
West Bromwich and Dudley in the 1860 to 1880 range?
I'm researching ancestors who seem to have moved from Knighton, RAD,
to Stafford then back to Knighton with connections in above midlands.
Individual concerned was connected with railway construction.
Any help much appreciated.

as a very old trainspotter if you post the whole census entries
I may be able to spot the nearest railway co
some times they lived in tied houses too
then you have to head for Kew
because nationalisation accummulted masses of historical records
was your grandfather a railwayman?
