Pat...
searching the web for Titus Wood I discovered his Son John Wood and this article on
radio 4
I have searched further for more information about John, I thought the
article may have been an extract from a book, I have searched booksellers

CWatters...
See this reference web-search Books found..

Long URL

Those links don't seem to work for me,but it doesn't matter, now I have the
information I was looking for.
Thank you

CWatters...
Not sure why but if you want to see the page use web-search Books
and search for "AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JOHN WOOD" in quotes. You should get two
hits that are almost identical.

Pat#2...
That worked fine, thank you, I had searched without the quotes before.

I have contacted the library and they are going to copy the full article and
send it to me, I appreciate your help very much in locating it for me :-)

CWatters...

Thank you very much, that's great, I will give them a ring tomorrow :-)

web sites without success, has anyone any ideas how to follow this up ?

John was the son of Titus Wood and Hannah (Robinson ?) married 13 Dec 1768
christened at Low Chapel Wilsden 11 Nov 1802.

There was another son Mathew b 10 Mar 1805 Wilsden

My GG Grandmother Hannah Wood was the daughter of a Titus Wood b 1792 and
Mary Waddington b 1792 both in Allerton.

This is the complicated part, GG Grandmothers daughter Martha Armitage
married William Henry Crossley, his mother in law was Sarah Ann Wood, (one
of her brothers was named Titus Wood) her father was Matthew Wood who
according to the IGI report was b 23 Oct 1808 in Manningham, at the bottom
of the page it says : Record submitted after 1991, it doesn't say who by,
question is, how reliable is that record, as there is only three years
difference in the birth of the two Matthews, could the other one be the
correct one ?

Charani...
That's a patron submission and needs to be viewed with a great deal of
caution. There could indeed be two Matthews born three years apart.
The first one could have died and a subsequent son given the same
name. That was not an infrequent occurrence. They could be two
totally different Matthews. One or both could be wishful thinking on
the part of the submitter. Check the parish registers and/or Bishop's
transcripts for the dates to confirm whether or not the IGI is
correct.

Personally I disregard any and all patron submissions.

Linedancer...
That's confirmed what I thought.

The first Mathew (spelt with one T) in 1805 is correct as the records are
from the Chapel records, looking at the second Matthew in the 1851 Census
his age appears to be 46 which would make it 1805 not 1808 as the patron
submission says, they could also have guessed his birth was in Manningham
instead of Wilsden as his wife was born there.

I imagine they are all part of my tree in some way.

I apologise for this long post.
