I have just received an email with the link below - I hope it works posting
this way
Barry
Downing Street is offering a petition for people to sign, which would
reduce the census release period from 100 years to 70 years, thus
making the 1911, 1921 and 1931 censuses available immediately. If you
would like to add your name, please copy and paste this link onto your
browser
Please also forward this link to anyone else who may be interested and any
other news groups as I am not sure how to pass to all

I don't want to miserable about this as intentions are obviously good
but a petition that asks for the 1931 Census, which was destroyed, and
misspells absence doesn't improve it's credibility.
The "companion" petition on records in general is even worse. A mishmash
of tangled references to UK and Danish situation. It takes a while to
work out which references are to U.K. and which to Denmark.

It will make no difference
Electronic petitions are ignored in the same way as paper ones (but in a so
much more environmentally friendly way).
