Alan Summerfield...
I have one credit with Ancestry left but all manner of searches have
failed to turn up my family in the 1891 Census. In 1881 and 1901 they
lived in Church Lane, Hampstead, albeit at different numbers (16 & 5
resp.). According to 1837online, Church Lane seems fairly well covered.
In case there's a transcription error, can anyone tell me if William
SUMMERFIELD (born 1843, Beds.), Church Lane, Hampstead, London is listed
and if so on which Piece, Folio and Page #?

RG12/15 folio 113 page 42 shows

Is that them?

Church Lane runs for 3 pages starting with RG12/106 f123 p36 to the end
of District 5. The last page of District 5 on Ancestry ends at No 15,
but the description of the district says there are 18 houses in Church
Lane and 9-13 are also missing. There are no Summerfields in the parts
of Church Lane shown, inc No 5. District 6 commences with another road,
but I haven't looked at it all. A possibility is that the final page of
District 5 wasn't scanned or has been lost. You could ask Ancestry to
look for it. They've never replied to my own reports of missing pages,
though others here have reported success.

Alan Summerfield...
Thanks Chris, I'll contact Ancestry.

Alan Summerfield...
Ancestry just confirmed that there is a missing pages "issue": "Our
programmers are aware of the situation with this census, and they will
correct it as soon as they are able."

Alan Summerfield...
Only after taking out a pay-per-view subscription with Ancestry :-(

Charani...
Murphy strikes again!!

Using the 1837online address search I see that their list of
schedules/houses is also not complete.

Charani...
It could be that that particlar bit of the piece is missing - as it
always is when it's the part you particularly want!!

The 1861 census is the worst affected for missing pages or sections
within a piece but I think that can apply to all the other censuses as
well.

I'm surprised you haven't discovered all this somewhat earlier - after
all you did pose a very similar query asking someone to look up
Summerfields (and Smalls) in Hampstead on Rootweb back in 2001

Charani...
Have you looked at www.1837online.com for the 1891 census?
