Robert Cana - Professional Theatrical Comedian

A family member of a friend is listed in his occupation as a
Professional Theatrical. His name is Robert Cana, born about 1834 in
Ipswitch, Suffolk. He was married to Ann Turner, but he is not present
in the household for the 1871 and 1881 census. The other interest
thing is that he is an inmate at the Union Workhouse in Nottingham
during the 1891 census. We think he died in late 1891 in Nottingham.
We are wondering what information we might find if Robert was in
professional theatre.

I had a web-search to see what that might offer and came up with this
link, which could refer to the father of the Roberrt you're interested
look at the entry for April 2nd 1823.

There is a site specifically for ancestors who were in the theatre but
I don't have a note of it.

58 in the Nottingham registration district (ref 7b 247) in the June
qtr of 1891. There was also a Robert William Cana who died age 83 in
the Brighton registration district (ref 2b 113)
