Depositing Family Research for Future

I am posting this anonymously for a variety of reasons.

If you were facing surgery etc with an uncertain outcome,
where would you ensure your research ws deposited so it
could easily be located by future researchers ?

With respect to all who are offering cyber-archiving suggestions ....
surely the OP will have more than just a tree to leave?

Absent a family member to carry on most of us will surely have at the
least. BDM certs, copies of Wills, letters and photographs, our own
notes .... possibly a number of reference books, indexes etc. The
Society of Genealogists would be the best repository for such a collection.

I am fortunate in that my son has now taken up an interest .... prior to
that I had given some thought to the problem .... used as I am to seeing
collections of people's family history dispersed at markets and
bootsales ......

As we often say, there's more to family history than shows up on an
electronic tree .....
