Can anyone help with one Astelyn Bluet? She appears in the Bradenstoke
Cartulary (#65) as wife of Robert Bluet, dated about mid 13th century.
from the known dates of some of the witnesses I would put it between
1230 and 1260. The surname is variously spelled Blewett, Bloet and
even Bluett
I have not come across this name before, can anyone shed any light on
her?
Cheers

Hi Tony,
Nothing to add, except that in Quebec "bluet" is the French word for
blueberry.

Really? In France it's the French word for cornflower. Blueberry is
'myrtille'.
Bluet is the English word for the plant Houstonia caerulea whereas blewits
are yummy wild mushrooms!

(Sorry, John, I pressed 'reply' rather than 'reply group' the first time.)
