Biggest farm in the parish and I missed it somehow...... Comes of trying to
transcribe a whole census for the parish per day....

Aye, Doc,

Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew! I am presently
transcribing from the microfilm the 1850 US Census of Orleans Parish,
Louisiana (Right Bank) which consists of my old hometown. Lovely
handwriting the enumerator had - e's, o's, & i's seem alike, as do v's
& r's , not to mention u's & n's, w's & m's, and assorted other
flavors!
And his spelling was creative. BTW, he was a Justice of the Peace.
Doc,

The DS and his bride Johanna Maria Margretha BERNHARDT are my Great
Great Grandparents, who married at Deventer on 11 April 1822. DS'
father Daniel was in the Dutch Army, then he became a Customs official
in Wehl, Gelderland where he died Cir. 1828.

I do go to Genlias from time to time to check on additions to the
databases - and since my Dutch is almost non-existant, they accomodate
me with an English version!!!

Thanks for replying.

Halmyre...
I've just been on it for the last half hour without any problems.
However, I'm off now so at least *one* person now has a chance...

Still hunting a lost gg-granny in 1851 (the first thing I looked for
just now) but I've found some more relatives!
