Can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction ?
Any ideas how I can find a couple and family who seem to have disappeared
since 1891 ?
William and Martha Crossley were both born in Bradford Yorks, in the 1881
census they lived in Bradford, they were wrongly entered under the name
Croasley.
I found them in 1891 census living in Glasgow with two of Martha's
Brothers, Ernest and Herbert Armitage
I have searched for them and can't find them anywhere in the 1901 census,
either in Scotland or England. I have searched the Ellis island records,
Boer war records
Also the free BMD's
William Henry Crossley b 1853
Martha wife b 1850 (Nee Armitage)
son Edward b 1878 d,1889
dau Eva b 1882
son William Edward b 1889

Maybe you should try emigration to Australia/New Zealand and appropriate
shipping records and passenger lists.
This would open a huge new field for research!

Where can I find the emigration and shipping records to search for
Australia/New Zealand ?

Hi Pat,
Concerning New Zealand shipping records, the only place you will find
any record for around 1900 is in the News Papers of the day and I
suspect it maybe the same for Australia.
Your best bet concerning New Zealand is to contact the Genealogical
Society of New Zealand and put an add in their magazine and hope that
some one is researching the family or has come across then in their
research.
Someone else with better knowledge on the Australian records can advise
you of what may work.
Hope this helps some.

publishing my trees on worldconnect (wc.rootsweb.com and upload a gedcom
file) has enabled for example Jones cousins in Australia to find me
and send me scans of family photographs from USK Monmouthshire
including my father age about 3
that even his mother (my granny) did not have when I cleared her house
in 1953
genesreunited also sorted some stuff
very good value

Thank you for the advice, I do have my tree on Genes Reunited and have
received lots of information from contacts.
I have it on Ancestry.com also although I am not a paying member.
I don't have it on World Connect, so I will take a look at it.
