Genes Reunited gives me the facility to print the entire collection of
my
relatives, their children, children-in-law, their parents etc etc.
(I'm
sure someone can tell me the technical term for that!), but with very
little detail.
Is it possible to do the same thing in either Legacy (I have version
6.0) or
PAF? Or should I be looking at some other software?
Grateful for any pointers please.

The Master Genealogist, not cheap, has the ability to send your gedcom

You do NOT send a GEDCOM to Wholly Genes... You produce your chart
using TMG and send the VCF (visual chartform) output file to them.

Goes to show I should have read the directions first, thanks for
setting the record straight. I KNEW you sent them something and they
could do large charts, but was mistaken in the formating of the file
we send to them. Thanks again

to the Company and they will print it for you on a large format
printer. It is an excellent program, but does have a learning curve.

FamilyTree Maker has an "everyone in the database" tree. It's has it for
quite a few versions now, so you could probably get a discounted ver 11, 12
or the 2005 and use that with a gedcom from your normal programme.

FTM 2006 single cd flat pack goes for $29
so get the best and latest unless you have an out of date operating system

After Version 11 FTM went downhill.
But version 11 includes an "all-in-one" tree print.

not for me
much better layout of the family page
better management of sources
a better GUI

The problem is not the application, but getting all that stuff onto paper.
Most apps will let you print some form of tree, page by page. This
leaves you with the task of cobbling it all together, trying to keep it
free of wrinkles (joke) and then staggering off with all this to a
competent photocopy shop, whose machine will copy stuff up to 36" wide.
That may even mean 2 passes...or more.
Some software can prepare an output file that you can take to a printer
- but the 36 inch max restriction may still apply.
And it depends on the proposed use. A family reunion wants info for
everyone, so small bits seem to work best - one big map gets too much
attention, and people get a bit lost. For your use, maybe a book would
be a better proposition.
