I would like to find the actual German documents (example: birth and
ship/emmigration record) for my direct ancestor Heinrich KIMPEL. What I

Bernd Niemann...
[...]

know is that he was born Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany (Fischborn) on June
9, 1832. And he left Bremerhaven (Is this Bremen, DE?) June 3, 1857

Bernd Niemann...
Not really. Bremerhaven was/is a town of it own, near Bremen.

You may find this site helpfull:

(German and English available)

Bernd from Germany

bound for New York. Where do I need to be to find these records?
Bremen and Fischborn? What group holds these records? City Hall,
Haven, etc?

Henning Boettcher...
You should look for parish records. But Fischborn seems to be a very
little village. It is now part of
D-63633 Birstein-Fischborn.
You must find a parish or similar that holds the parish records for
Fischbach. You should look at the nearest greater town and ask there
at a parish if they hold the parish records of Fischbach.
