Does anyone know of anyone researching these names?

Gearhart and Kishpaugh are misread or miswritten. Those are no
German names.

KISHPAUGH was originally GIERSBACH.

Hi Marshall,
When was it Giersbach, and where does it come from? From where do you get
your reference?
USA Census has 29 Kishpaugh in 1860 census, all showing birth in USA.
1870 - 37, 1900 - 61, 1910, 77, 1920, 80.
Then there is Kishbaugh. 1860 - 2, 1879 - 25, 1900 - 41, 1910 - 56, 1920 -
69.
One of the census entries script looks more like it is Kishbaugh, not
Kishpaugh. Did not check them all.
I don't have the answers myself, but it looks a lot like misspelling on the
part of immigration. Then the census may have just picked up from there.
Interesting problem.
Could not find any Kishpaugh, nor Kishbaugh in German phone directory. Nor
anything approaching either spelling.
Good luck to Donald, the first poster on this thread.

Isn't it commonly spelled as Gearhardt in German? I don't know about the
other one.

An Internet search for Walz+"Weiler, Germany"+genealogy will get 4 hits.
Two of them are below.
One of the 4 hits include your post.
You could do the same search with the other surnames, as well.
There are 44 Weiler locations in Germany. Where is your Weiler located?
What towns are nearby? What state is it in?
